Dear Parents
Welcome to Sandy Upper School and Community Sports College. We
are a school where every child matters. We aim to ensure that
every student is healthy and enjoys their education, achieving
at the highest possible level. We also encourage all students
to make a positive contribution, be safe and prepared for future
economic well-being.
As a Specialist School we use our
specialism to support the aims of the Children Act by providing
a broad, demanding curriculum and quality teaching and support
staff. We are a school that is committed to ensuring that each
individual student is successful and happy in the crucial period
leading up to Vocational Courses, GCSE, VGCSE and A Level examinations.
Over its twenty-nine year history
our school has established, and continues to develop, a wide range
of quality opportunities both academic and extra-curricular and
it is with great pride that we celebrate our students’ many
successes in their activities. This celebration takes place throughout
the year but culminates in our Awards Evening in the Autumn Term
and Sports Presentation Evening in July.
We pride ourselves on being an open, caring and thriving school
and welcome enquiries from prospective parents and interested
parties. For parents new to the school we hope this website will
give you a flavour of our school and encourage you to come along
